Abstract Hydrocarbon poisoning is still a common toxicological emergency among pediatrics, chemical pneumonia is caused by aspiration of volatile hydrocarbons and chemical oils. The present study aimed to identify the prevalence of acute hydrocarbon exposure among patients admitted to Alexandria Poison Center (APC) and to evaluate clinical, laboratory and radiological findings as prognostic indicators in acute hydrocarbons poisoning patients The current work was carried out in 6 month-duration from the first of January 2022 to 30th of June 2022. During the study period, 3612 patients were admitted to APC with various causes of poisoning. Acute hydrocarbons poisoning represented 4.92% (n=178) of total cases. Informed consent was obtained from all patients or their guardians. All patients were interviewed and clinically assessed then laboratory and radiological investigations were conducted. Proper management and careful follow-up were considered in all cases. The highest number of the intoxicated cases was among children from1 to 12 years where they constituted (71.3%) of total cases.
