Abstract

In the current study, we aimed to compare the postoperative analgesic effect of three different doses of intrathecal ketamine (0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mg) as an adjuvant to bupivacaine in patients undergoing knee arthroscopy. A total of 105 patients scheduled for knee arthroscopy were recruited in the study and randomly subdivided into three groups (each group had 35 patients) based on the dose of intrathecal ketamine. The main findings in the current study were; 1) baseline data and ephedrine dose were comparable in all groups, 2) perioperative hemodynamics changes and oxygen saturation showed no significant differences between groups, 3) different groups had comparable duration of block (sensory and motor), analgesia, total doses of analgesia and postoperative NRS.
