Search goal:
The effect of a training program using aerobic exercises on some
physical abilities and the performance level of some skills for table tennis
juniors in the New Valley Governorate
Research hypotheses:
1. There are statistically significant differences between each of the pre
and post measurements of the research sample in some physical abilities
of table tennis juniors.
2. There are statistically significant differences between the pre and post
measurements in the performance level of some skills for junior table
tennis players.
3. There is a statistically significant correlation between some physical
abilities and the level of performance of some skills for junior table tennis
players.
Research Methodology
The researcher used the experimental approach using the
experimental design with one experimental group, with the two
measurements system (pre and post), due to its suitability to the nature of
the research.
research community
The research community includes table tennis juniors under (15)
years old, born (2007-2009) who are registered in the Youth and Sports
Organizations and National Projects project of the Directorate of Youth
and Sports for the sports season in the New Valley Governorate
The research sample:
The research sample was chosen by the intentional method, and the
research sample will consist of (10) players.
Data collection methods and tools:
In collecting data and information related to the variables under
study, the researcher relied on the following tools:
First: the reference survey.
Second: application forms and personal interview.
Third: Measurements and tests for the variables under study.
Fourth: Equipment and tools.
5
During her measurements of the various variables under study, the
researcher used the following devices and tools:
• A restameter for measuring height/cm and a medical scale for
measuring weight/kg.
• Stopwatch to measure time / sec.
• Table tennis table.
Speculators.
• Tennis Core.
• Measuring tape.
• seat.
• whistle.
Chalk.
Results dump forms.
• Digital camera.
Executive procedures for the study:
Tribal measurements:
The researcher conducted tribal measurements by making
measurements of height, weight, knowing age, training age, and physical
tests to know the level of the players, as well as skill tests for the research
sample, on Tuesday 6/12/2022 AD. The researcher took into account the
appropriate preparation process before performing.
Software application:
The researcher implemented the training program (aerobic
exercises) on the research sample in the period from (11/12/2022 AD to
3/3/2023 AD), and it took (12) training weeks, with (3) training units per
week.
Dimensional measurements:
Post-measurements were conducted on the same tests that were
done in the pre-measurements, with the same conditions and
circumstances of the pre-measurements, and in all the variables under
discussion, on Sunday, 3/5/2023 AD.
Conclusions
Within the limits of the nature and scope of the research and its
objective, and in the light of the research hypotheses, the methodology
used and the nature of the sample, and through statistical analysis of the
data, the following conclusions could be reached:
1- The use of aerobic exercises had a positive effect on the special
physical capabilities (under study) (response speed - movement speed -
agility - arm compatibility with the eye) arranged from highest to lowest
in terms of the percentage of improvement as follows:
- The largest percentage of improvement was (the compatibility of the
arm with the eye), with an improvement rate of (86.31%).
Then (fitness) with an improvement rate of (56.41%).
6
- Then (response speed), with an improvement rate of (51.78%).
- Then (motor speed), with an improvement rate of (50.00%).
- There are significant differences between the averages and percentage
of improvement in the pre and post measurements in the effectiveness of
performing some of the most used skills:
- Back spiral stroke with an improvement rate of (45.25%).
Serving with the front racket at an improvement rate of (36.79%).
- Serving towards the back racket with an improvement rate of (31.79%).
- The front spiral strike with an improvement rate of (27.53%).
- Pushing the ball towards the back of the racket with an improvement
rate of (21.17%).
- Pushing the ball in front of the racket with an improvement rate of
(15.86%).
the researcher recommends the following:
In light of the results of the research and based on the data and findings,
the researcher recommends the following:
1- Benefiting from aerobic exercises in developing the basic skills of
table tennis juniors because of their important role in improving the
level of performance.
2- The need for table tennis coaches to use aerobic exercises in the
training programs for table tennis juniors.
3- Directing the results drawn from the training program for workers
in the field of table tennis training.
4- Emphasizing the use of various training methods to improve the
level of skillful performance in various sports.
5- The need to use aerobic exercises in the training program by the
trainers to raise their skill levels in the sport of table tennis.
6- Applying the proposed training program using aerobic exercises on
samples of players in different age stages, in proportion to their
physical, skill, physical, mental and social capabilities.
7- The importance of using aerobic exercises in training programs and
taking into account the nature of the required skillful performance.
8- Directing the proposed training program to workers in the field of
sports training in general and table tennis in particular to benefit
from its results.
9- The need to conduct training courses to hone the trainers and
qualify them to explain how to benefit from such applied research.
