Abstract The COVID-19 is a rapidly emerging worldwide health crises started by recognition of the first case in Wuhan, china on 29th of December 2019 the disease rapidly spread worldwide and on the 9th of March 2020 the World health Organization (WHO) declared the pandemic status of the disease Although 85% of COVID-19 cases doesn’t require hospital admission, and only 5% need Intensive Care and ventilatory support the rapid increase in number and sharp upright direction of the epidemic curve can lead to health system failure, so mass and individual measures of social distancing, lock downs, teleworking, and awareness campaigns were undertaken by countries and authorities to flatten the that epidemiological curve and decreases the surge of the disease. The current essay aimed to improve the quality of primary care for patients with different manifestation of COVID-19 infection For this aim our objectives was presented in four chapter, Chapter I determine the prevalence of COVID-19, - Globally, as of 6:09pm CET, 15 December 2022, there have been 646,740,524 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 6,637,512 deaths, reported to WHO. Also we highlighted on the prevalence of covid-19 in different countries Also the current essay reviewed in Chapter II the evidence-based guidance on different ways of management of variable manifestation of COVID-19 infection , we highlighted on WHO definitions of disease severity for COVID-19 , including critical ,sever , and , non-severe COVID-19 ,and the essay high lightened on clinical care pathway that include the CARE principles: Confirm, Assess, Respond and Evaluate. Also we represent the Risk factors associated with severe disease and how to manage the different pattern of presentations that includes mild disease , moderate and sever pneumonia , Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) , sepsis , septic shock , and Acute thrombosis . and finally in this chapter we present the Egyptian National guidelines for COVID -19 77 Also the current essay in Chapter III reviewed the role for the family medicine physician in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of COVID- 19 . We highlighted on different actions including: - Actions at the primary care level including Policy actions ; ( Planning , Resources , and Regulation ) , - Actions to maintain delivery of essential health services : ( Identification of context-specific essential health services , Provision of essential health services , Innovations in service delivery ,and Communication with the community) - Actions to ensure resources for managing suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases : ( Infrastructure , Health-care workers , Medicines and supplies , Risk communication and community engagement ) - Actions to manage suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases : ( Identification, triage and isolation of suspected COVID-19 cases , Management of suspected or confirmedCOVID-19 cases , Transport to hospital , Environmental cleaning , and Follow-up of contacts and notification ) - Actions to prepare and roll out COVID-19 vaccination : (Facility and infrastructure , Health workforce , Service delivery adaptation , Vaccines and commodities supply and storage , Communication and community engagement ) Also, the |
