The COVID-19 pandemic is considered one of the greatest global public health crises. COVID-19 is an emerging infectious disease caused by a novel coronavirus, now called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), that was first discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan city, Hubei Province, China. The COVID-19 outbreak is still evolving worldwide scale. According to the World Health Organization, the coronavirus disease 2019 has affected almost 500 million people around the world, with more than 6 million deaths.COVID-19 infects people of all ages with median age of patients to be 56 years, ranging from 15 to 80 years. However, there are two main groups at a higher risk of developing severe disease: older people, and people with underlying comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiorespiratory disorders, chronic liver diseases and renal failure. Patients with cancer and those receiving immunosuppressive medication as well as pregnant people are also thought to be at a higher risk of developing severe disease when infected
