Abstract ”This study aimed to evaluate the remineralizing effect of both of biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP), nanohydroxyapatite (nano-HA) and beta tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) on an incipient enamel caries and also their effect on some properties regards surface microhardness, color change, laser fluorescence and surface morphology and elemental composition . The specimens were divided into three groups according to the type of remineralizing powder used. The remineralizing effect was evaluated by using scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive x-ray analysis, surface microhardness, color change and laser fluorescence tests at different times; at baseline, after incipient caries formation, after treatment for 14 days and after treatment for 30 days. For surface microhardness and EDX; BCP group had the highest values followed by HA then β-TCP. However, there was no sigificant difference between the groups. For laser fluorescence; BCP group had the lowest values followed by HA then β-TCP. But, there was no significant difference between the groups. For color change; the three studied groups decreased the color difference between baseline and after demineralization, caused by the induction of incipient enamel caries, making the color difference clinically acceptable. Within the limitations of this study, it could be concluded that the remineralizing effect of synthesized BCP group was better than that of synthesized nano-HA and β-TCP ” |
