Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate effect of microalgae namely Spirulina platensis on growth performance, profiles of fatty acids, antioxidant status and meat quality of breast muscles in broiler chickens. One hundred one-day-old broiler chicks. chickens of mixed sex (as hatched) were purchased from alocal hatchary at Gamasa city were assigned randomly to five groups, with 20 birds per group. The 1st group (G1): control normal feeding ration for 42 day- The 2nd group (G2): chicks were given basal diet mixed with 0. 5gm /kg of spirulina for 42 days-The 3rd group (G3): chicks were given basal diet mixed with 1gm/ kg spirulina for 42 days- The 4th group (G4): chicks were given basal diet mixed with 2gm/ kg spirulina for 42 days- The 5th group (G5): chicks were given basal diet mixed with 4gm/ kg spirulina for 42 days. Finally at the end of the experiment ,some biochemical parameters were estimated as profiles of fatty acids, antioxidant status and meat quality of breast muscles in broiler chickens. TNFα gene expression by RT-PCR technique SP can be used as an alternative natural growth promoter, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory feed additive for broilers production. asignificant increase of RBCs count, WBCs count, and Hb count. Improvement in lipid profile. Improvement in lipid profile Asharp increase in serum total protein, albumin, globulin. Enhancing of immune response Depression of lipid peroxidation. Induction of antioxidant enzymes., a significant increase in water holding capacity %. Depression of TNFα gene expression.
