Abstract In common practice, the sequence of the wet precessing of cotton and blend fabrics to obtain satisfactory whiteness and absorbency involves three stages, namely, desizing, scouring and bleaching. The three operations are usually carried out separately and in succession. The work presented in this thesis was undertaken with a view to optimize formulations and to establish conditions required for developing a single stage desizing-scouring-bleaching (DSB) process of all-cotton and cotton/polyester blend fabrics. |
