Abstract
Autooxidation process of the majority of polymeric materials is a chain reaction, usually free radical in nature. Radical initiating autooxidation in polymers ara formed by thermal energy, u. v. radiation, high energy radiation, mechanical stress, metal catalysis and addition of initiators. under the effect of any these conditions in the presence of oxygen, polymer bonds are ruptured and autooxidation occurs.
