Abstract Chrozophora plicata is a perennial and desert plant belonging to family Euphorbiaceae. It was studied in different localities in Kharga and Dakhla Oases. The climatic factors namely ; air temperature, evaporation, relative humidity and rainfall were recorded. Mechanical analysis of the soil supporting Chrozophora plicata showed that the soil texture is sandy. The soil moisture content was low. The chemical analysis showed that C. plicata inhabites non-saline desert localities and the values of water-soluble salts, carbonates, bicarbonates, sulphates, chlorides, minerals, and organic carbon content were relatively low and the soil reaction was slightly alkaline. |
