Abstract
The information about microbial urease are increasing in recent years due to its important applications in agriculture, medicine and other important industries especially ceramic industry. In the present investigation, screening of different microorganisms related to different groups (Bacteria, actinomycetes, yeast and fungi) was conducted. Some properties of the crude enzyme produced by the potent urease producing strain of each group were also studied. The thesis was also extended to preliminary studies for chosing the microbe which is more efficient in improving ceramic properties than other tested ones.
