Abstract
This work included three topics, the first study was of poly(p - phenylene terephthalamide) (PPT) a new material with exceptional mechanical properties. The second topic concerned a study of lamellar microstructure in polyethylene, economically the most important polymer. The third topic has been the development of etchants to permit detailed electron microscopic study of a range of other commercial polymers.
