Abstract
Moderating detectors proved to be suitable for the determination of the neutron dose equivalent in the range between thermal energy and 10 MeV. These detectors are referred to as neutron Rem - counters. In its simple from a moderating Rem - counter is a slow neutron detector placed at the centre of polyethylene sphere, where the sphere diameter is 8” to 12”. In general four types of Rem - counters are developed, these are single sphere with or without internal absorber, and multisphere or multi - detector Rem - counters.
