Abstract The work described in this thesis deals with the calculation of the ”exact” intermediate coupling wave functions for the 4S2 4P44d, 4S2 4P4 5S, 4S 4P6 states and the ground state of singly ionized Krypton. The angular part of the wave functions are obtained using the least squales fitting technique while the parametric potential method is used in evaluating the radial part of the wave functions. With the wave function obtained transition probability and lifetimes are calculated in the multiconfiguration scheme. The effect of configuration interaction on the level positions and the lifetimes is investigated. |
