Abstract The present study included fifteen patients who were developing gingival hyperplasia after five months of administration of Cy—A. This group of patients was compared with the control group which consisted of fifteen individuals of nearly the some age. The patients were subjected to oral care which included plaque control and oral hygeine measures. The local irritating factors were removed periodically every two weeks. Gingival hyperplasia was manifested, in the oral cavity, after about 5 months of drug administration. Gingival index, plaque index end retention index were performed and were found to be not eigificant as compared to then’ormal control group. Gingival biopsies were excised from the interden— :al papillae for histochemical study. The histochemical results showed moderate intensity : hyaluronidase activity in the connective tissueer of the control biopsies. |
