Abstract

The present study aims: a) providing quantitative estimates about vegetative yield, minerals accumulation and metabolic products of E. stagnina growing at three different habitats (irrigating canal as control, simple drain with agricultural chemicals and contaminants and complicated drain with both organic and inorganic pollutants). Also, variations in the floristic composition of the plant community and changes of the anatomical features of the roots were detected. It was concluded that; air temperature, relative humidity and evaporative power of air are effective and governing the distribution and growth of the plant. Both physical and chemical characteristics of the bottom sediments and overlying water were differ at the three habitats. Organic carbon, total soluble salts, anions and cations b) determining the factors controlling the distribution, variations in standing crop phytomass and chemical compositional change of Ludwigia stolonifera. Also, treatment conducted with cattle manure as source of organic wastes to evaluate behavior of the plant with the environmental pollution.
