Abstract
The aim of -chis work is to study the immuno logical status of the lower respiratory tract in diabetics and its reflection on the lung function by using the bronchoalveolar lavage as a research tool with concomitant ventlatory function study. This study included 36 diabetic patients and 8 healthy subjects as a control group. The diabetic pateints were classified into 4 groups: a 1- Patients with controlled type I diabetes (8 cases). 2- Patients with controlled type II diabetes (8 cases). 3- Patients with uncontrolled type I diabetes (8 cases). 4- Patients with uncontrolled type II diabetes (12 cases). All cases were submitted to: * Thorough history taking and clinical examiantion. * Investigations including: - Plain X-ray chest.
