Abstract
This study was carried out on 50 patients with obstructive ventilatory defect in addition to 15 healthy subjects as control group, they were selected from out patient clinic and inpatient of thoracic medicine department, Mansoura Unversity Hospital during the period between January to Desember 1995. All patients were classified into three groups according to their clinicopathological pattern into: © Asthma group, constitute 15 patients, 11 of them were males and 4 females with mean age 37.66 SD 8.74± years . © COPD group, comprise 20 patients, 17 of them were males and 3 female with mean age 48.81 SD ±11.9 years . (D Bronchiectasis group, constitute 15 patients, 9 were males and 6 females with mean age 44.67 SD ±9.69years . All studied subjects were submitted to thorough history taking, clinical examination, X ray chest, E.C.G, echocardiography and laboratory parameters including arterial blood gases. * This study was aiming to, declare the impact of obstructive ventilatory impairment on cardiac performance,and if there is a correlation between various degrees of obstruction and cardiac
