Abstract This study was -carried out on 40’patients (20 allergic rhinitis and 20 allergic rhinitis with asthma) in addition to 20 healthy subjects as a control group. They were selected from Thoracic Medicine and E N.T. Departments at Mansoura University Hospitals during the period from August 1995 to August 1996. They were sub-devided into three groups: Group T Control group: Comprising twenty healthy volunteer with age ranging from 1. 6 to 3 5 years (mean 24.9 years) of which I 0 were males and 1.0 were females. Group H: Allergic rhinitis: Comprising twenty patients with age ranged from 15 to 38 years (inean 26.7 years) of which 9 were males and 1. I were females.Group,III: -Bronchial astlu-na with allergic rhinitis comprising 20 patients wifti - age ranging from 16 to 3 5 years (mean 2 5.6 years). They were 8 males and 12 females. All stu( A, subjects were submitted to thorough history taking, clinical examination, complete blood picture for eosinophils, sputum examination’ for eosinophils, urine mid stool analysis, total IgE level, skin tests, pulmonary fwiction tests, bronchoprovocation challenging with methachoine, chest X-ray and occipito-mental x-ray for sinus examination. |
