Abstract In this work, 25 patients with clinically suspected DVT were studied (8 males and 17 females), their ages ranged from 18-60 years, selected from patients admitted to vascular surgery and surgical departments, Mansoura, University Hospital. Patients were diagnosed clinically by painful and tender swallen lower limb, positive dopler ultrasound and positive ultrasonic scanning which had been done to ileofemoral DVT patients (1 6 cases). Patients were excluded from the study if any anticoagulant or thrombolytic treatment was given, if any history of previous DVT, hypercoagulable states, liver disease and contraceptive medication were repoted. They were classified according to the site of DVT to popliteal and ileofemoral, according to duration into short duration (less than 3 days) and long duration (more than 3 days). A control group of 10 healthy subjects of matched age and sex were selected for comparison. Both patients and controls were subjected to the following investigations. |
