Abstract
In a trial to study the lation ”between E.N0T. inflammatory lesions and ocular inflammations, mainly uveitis, we carried out some clinical, ”bacteriological, histopathological and experimental studies. The work included 3 groups of persons. group I$was 52 patients with different ocular inflamaiations, 48 cases of iridocyc-litis together with a single case of hypopiorii end-ophthalmitis, panophthalmitis and orbital callulitis. They were submitted to full clinical examinations, ”bac¬teriological study of aqueous humour and blood cultures. Flora of the con-June tival sacs and E.NVI. region were cultured and their identity was determined. In addition, histochemical study of the physiological activity of Waldeyerls ring of 17 patients with uveitis was compared with 10 patients free from ocular troubles and without a history of throat troubles before. Groups II and III; each consisted of 50 persons attending the E.N.T. Clinic and Medical and Surgical Clinics respectively. All were eye free. They were subjected to full clinical E.N.T* examination to compare the incidence of E.N.T. inflamma¬tory lesions, with those lesions detected in the 50 patients of uveitis.
