Abstract The aim of this work is to assess the value of phys¬iotherapy in cases of chronic bronchitis with emphy¬sema as regard the degree of improvement in pulmonary function. 2. The material of the. present study comprised 20 pati-ents of chronic bronchitis with emphysema, 17 males, and 3 females, with an age range between 34 and 75 years, all have received medical treatment and only 12, patients recieved medical treatment and physical treatment in the form of breathing exercises. 3. ?or all, cases thorough clinical assessment, urine, and stool analysis, chest roentegenography, sputum culture sensitivity and Gram stain, complete blood picture including HB%, re.d cell count, white cell count total and differential, E«S,R* and haematocrit value and pulmonary function tests including VC, FVG, . FEVQ 5, PEV0 5/FVC#, PEV1? FEV-j/PVC^, PEER, MVV and blood gases Yrere done* Pulmonary function tests were done before and after salbutamol inhalation and after medical treatment. |
