Abstract Chronic renal failure is a common clinical problem in iagnosis. evaluation and management. Hemorheology is the science of flow properties of the lood under physiologic and pathologic conditions. The study included ten well cross-matched normal ersonS as control and thirty patients with chronic end stage renal disease; 10 patients (CRF) without hemodialysis and 10 patients (CRF) on hemodialysis. Less than one month and 10 patients on chronic hemodylysis more than 6 months. The selected patients were not suffering from any condition that would affect the hemorheological parameters other than uremia. All patients and controls were subjected to full fhistory and clinical examination. biochemical measurement (blood urea nitrogen. serum creatinine. serum sodium and serum potassium). hematological parameters (hemoglobin concentration. red blood cell count, total and differential : leucocytic counts. platelets and hematocrite value). lastly , hemorheoiogigal parameters (whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity). |
