Abstract 100 Tru-cut needle biopsies obtained from patients with disease or hepatosplenomegaly for investigations. This study includes the incidence of each lesion. It also the results obtained with those found in the litera- Developmental lesions were found to constitute 8 % of the number of liver biopsies. Pure bilharzial cases were found to constitute 4 % of the number of liver biopsies. Cirrhosis was found to constitute 60 % of the total number liver biopsies. Mixed (bilharzial with cirrhosis) lesions were found to iconstitute 15 % of total number of liver biopsies. Malignant neoplasms were found to constitute 9% of total number of liver biopsies. Hepatocellular carcinoma was found to constitute 85.71% of primary malignant liver neoplasms. Granulomas were found to constitute 12% of the total num¬ of liver biopsies. Fatty infiltration was found in 4 % of the total number of biopsies. All these specimens were obtained by needle biopsy with sUfficient core from which diagnosis of the hepatic lesions was. |
