Abstract Normal haemostasis is maintained by a balanoe bet¬ween the ooagulation and fibrinolytio system Hyperooa¬gulability inoludes changes in coagulation factors, fibrinolytic system, platelets and inhibitors of coagulation and fibrinolysis, these changes are important for the development of thrombosis. The aim of this work is to study plasminogen and plasmin inhibitors in nephrotio Syndrome and their possible meohanisms The patients in this work were seleoted from both pediatrio and nephrology departments of Mansoura University Hospital, they comprised 28 ohildren (22 males and 6 females), their ages ranged from 3-10 years, all of them are diagnosed as idiopathic nephrotic SYndrome. All of them are investigated prior to any start of therapy The control group comprises 10 normal children of matched age and sex Patients as well as controls are subjeoted to the folloWing investigations : 10 Plasma plasminogen levels 20 Alpha-2 antiplasminlevels 30 Serum alpha-2 macrog1obulin levels 40 Serum alpha-l antitrypsin levels 50 Serum antithrombin III levels 6.
