Abstract From our purposes of the present study was to establish a screening tool that could be undertaken to identify children at particular cardiovascular risk. Twenty families were studied with patemal history of premature CAD before the age of 55Y” Probands were chosen from the outpatient cardiology clinic In Mansoura University hospitals and were asked to come 12-h. Fasting with their families who were examined clinically and then subjected to the following aboratory investigations :- 1- T.C. 2- T.G. 3- HOle. 4- lOLc 5- lP (a) 6- apo (B). each of the previOUS values were compared with their predicted control values and offsprings’ values regressed with their parents.Lp(a) increased significantly in fathers and offspring. Also offspring blood chOlesterol and LDLc increased significantly compared with their controls. Furthermore. Lp (a), TC and LDLc was observed with significant regression if compared in offspring with their parents. Also , Lp(a) • TC and LDLc were the three discriminators the! 1119l1rly identify children of affected pEfents with premature CAD. |
