Abstract This thesis includes 105 cases of renal transplant recipients (72 males and 33 females) with mean age of 29 years. Color Duplex Doppler sonography and radio- nuclide examinations were done for all cases, while uls guided biopsy was done in 60 cases with deteriorated graft function. A total of 246’color duplex Doppler examinations were performed at the level of the main renal, segmental, interlobar and arcuate arteries. 180 examinations were performed with the gamma camera. 28 cases with normal functions ~f the transplanted kidney were considered as control group, the remaining 77 cases showed the following complications : Mild, moderate and severe cellular rejection (11, 21 and 2 cases respectively), vascular rejection (2 cases), chronic rejection (14 cases). Cyclosporine toxicity (5 cases), acute tubular necrosis (2 cases), dilated P.C.S. (7 cases), peri-graft collections (9 cases), and vascular complications (4 cases) . In cases of acute rejection, the mean R.I. in mild, moderate and severe cellular and vascular rejection is 0.73, 0.78. 0.89 and 0.87 respectively. With R.I less than 0.7 at the levels of the main renal and arcuate arteries. The specif ici ty is low, 19% and 42% respectively, while the sensitivity is high, 96% and 84% respectively. On the other hand at R.I. greater than 0.9, we found thrit the specificity is high 97?6 and 100% at the levels of the main renal and arcuate arteries respectively, while the sensitivity is low 6% and 8% respectively. The pulsatili ty indices increases gradua l Iv according to the severity of acute rejection. The mean P.I in mild, moderate and severe. |
