Abstract
This work was done to study the role of isotopic study in obstructive uropathy.This study included 50 cases of obstructive uuropathy,39 of them were male and 11 were female with age ranging from 2.5; 63 years. They were complains from urinary obstructive sYmptoms and subjected to isotopic studY which was standard renogram in 14 cases ,diuretic renogram in 36 patiennts and renal fuunction in 48 cases.Post operative follow up renogram was carried out for 21 patients to evatuate the effect of surgery on the fuunction of kidney and if obstruction has relieved or not. Isotope provide information which essentia to the mangement of selected patient with known or suspected urinary tract obstruction So, it show rate of disapperance of radioactive from urinary tract during diuresis to establish prescence or abscence of obstruction in equivocal lesion, detect level and degree of obstruction and measures individual and combined renal function which help if the patient is likely to be benefit from surgery and if obstruction has recurred.
