Abstract
There has been a virtual explosion of knowledge in the field of colon and srectam . A clearer understanding of anatomy and of the evaluation and ording of pelvic physiology has led to surgical applications based on logic ! tific information . A careful history and physical examination are ndatory to evaluate colorectal proctologic diseases . Diagnostic anorectal functional studies include manometry , sphincter ctromyography , defecography and endosonography . In anorectal nometry , many different catheters and probes have been used and because this variability of equipment and technique , every anorectal laboratory has delineate the manometric values for the normal anal canal in order to better Diagnostic anorectal functional studies can reveal pathology not detectable physical examination or by the ordinary methods of investigations . There anorectal functional disorders not explained by structural or abnormalities and such disorders should be known to every hysician to avoid wasting time seeking for the underlying aetiology. In conclusion we recommend the use of the recent diagnostic tools of and advice to obtain an idea about the anorectal region as egard recent anatomy physiology , functional disorders & the diagnostic norectal functional studies .
