Abstract
The present work is a randomized prospective comparative study, comparing the perioperative clinical, laboratory, ultrasonographic data of uterine leiomyomata group receiving GnRHa therapy versus non-receiver group. , It was aimed to reach a consensus on the role of the expensive GnRI-Ia therapy in the preoperative management of uterine leiomyomata in our locality. One hundred-twenty studied cases with uterine LM were encountered and randomized in two studied groups (group I and II) of comparable age, parity gravidity, body weight, BMI and socioeconomic status. Group 1 control, group II hormonally treated; ’each case received two injections of GnRHa with monthly interval. Atter a written consent was obtained from each case before being enrolled. Evaluation of patient’s symptomatology, uterine volume and size,Hb and HeT concentrations were undertaken in both groups at entry of the study, 4 weeks following the first GnRHa injection and 4 weeks following the second injection (preoperative).
