Abstract
The present study was undertaken to study the histological and histochemical changes of the primary sex organs (testis and ovary) of both male and female albino rat. forty male and female rats were used in this work. They were divided into to equal groups : group I contained twenty male rats C:l11d group II contained twenty female rats. Two male and similarly two female rats were specified every week. The specimens were taken from the first day after birth up to the 9 the week postnatal. Samples were taken ford the testes and ovaries and used for histological and histochemical studies. Exanimation of sections taken from the testis revealed that the somniferous tubules appeared at first as solid cords then beeor’le canalized. The disrupters of the somniferous tubules were found to be progressed- very increased with advanced age. Spermatozoid were differentiated in to type 1 and type B at the end of the first week.
