Abstract
The second order linear ordinary differential equation with real periodic coefficients, comonly known as Hill’s equation, has been investigated by many mathematicians in recent years. An account of much of this theory, in part summarizod, is given in the book[20] .further results relating to eigenfuction theory are given by tichmarsh in 27 chapter 21 the probem investigated is the size gaps in the essential spectrun.
