Abstract The present thesis deals with the problem of suppressing the excessive vibrations for some composite structures by optimal design and active control. This problem has wide applications in aerospace industry and in large space structures. So the present work aims to solve the optimal design and control problems of some composite structures based on generalized higherorder shear deformation theories for various cases of boundary conditions. The control objective of the problems is the minimization of the dynamic response of the structures with minimum expenditure of control energy produced by an external force distributed over the upper surface of the structures. The plies thickness and the orientation angles of the plies fibers are taken as design variables. Analytical solutions are obtained using LiapunovBellman theory. |
