Abstract
Seventeen normotensive patients of lVth-sexwere chosen for this study. Their mean age was 34years (range from 1750 years). All Patients werepremedicated 10 minutes before induction of anaesthesiaby labetalol in variant increasing doses*The first group (6 patients) was injected by e dose of0.1 mg.Kg-1 i4V#The secondgroup (6 patients) was Jnjeotp,d, b,y a dose of0.15 mg.Kg. i-v-The third group (5 patients) w - 00.2 mg-Kg-1 i.v.For all groupst the effects of labetalol on heart ratetblood pressure and B,C.Go changes during intubationwere recorded.It was observedthat labetalol in a dose of 0.2 mg.Kg-1was protective against heart rat,*, blood pressureand E*C*G* changes during endotracheal intubation.
