Abstract There is failure to mount an efficient cytotoxic T-cell response 111 chronic HBV infection, so design of synthetic peptide based immuno theraputic steratgies to terminate. Also schistosomal hepatic affection possibly makes a person at a high risk to catch hepatitis infection and chronic hepatosplenic schistosomiasis have a variable dgrees of immune depression. The alln of this work is to study the state of T -cell subsets and cytotoxic T -lymphocyt activity by Cr51 cromiuom51. Release in HBsAg positive patients. This study was conducted on 38 patients classified into 4 groups : 10 as control group (6 males and 4 females), 9 patients as sin1ple schistosomiasis (6 males and 3 females), 9 patients as combined sehistosomiasis and HBsAg positive (5 males and 4 females) and 10 patients as HBsAg positive group ( 7 males and 3 females). All groups were subjected to full history and medical examination especially symptomes of and signes of liver affection, radiological examination by abdominal ultrasound and laboratory investigations as C.B.C, HBsAg, liver function tests, urine & stool analysis and sample of peripheral blood was subjected to T-cells subsets and cytotoxic T-cell activity by Cr51 release. |
