Abstract

PONV are still a major problem which may be fatal, many drugs were develop to avoid this problelll, however non of them has a good efficacy in additional to many side effects.
- Ondansetron was recently introduced in the field of anti-emetics of PONV.
- The all11 of our study to compare between ondansetron and metoclopromide in the prevention of PONV in emergency limb surgery in patient under general anaesthesia.
- This study was concluded 60 patients aged from 20­50 years admitted to Emergency Hospital for emergency orthopaedic surgery.
- Premedication of these patients were done by Lv. atropine 0.01 mg/kg. General anaesthesia was induced by a sleeping dose of thiopentone Sodium 2.5%~ endotracheal tube lubricated with xylocaine jel 2% facilitated by sux3111eihonium In a dose of 1 mg/kg.
