Abstract
The objective of this work is investigate theoretically and experimentally the performance characterestics of externally pressurized rectangular air thrust bearing to gain desin informations applicable at different working conditions. also , it intends to establish the optimum bearing dimensions that satisfy the requirements of highest load carrying capacity (L.C.C.) and shape factor (LPs.A) while maintaintaining mass flow rate at some acceppt- able minimum.
