Abstract The genetic studies such as heterosis , combining ability and heritability in broad and narrow senses for sorghum are very important to selected optimum parents and crosses for breeding program .So we use line x tester design analysis ( 10 lines x 4 testers) could be used in this study. The results indicated that, the analysis of variance was significant and highly significant for all the studied traits. The heterosis versus mid-parents , better parent and the advantage values of F1 crosses relative to the mid-checks cleared that desirable crosses or genotypes larger than parents or checks. .In the same time genetic parameters indicated that dominance genetic variance was larger than additive genetic variance and played the major role in the inheritance of most of studied traits. Also the results indicated that the heritability in broad sense was larger than the heritability in narrow sense for all the studied traits. |
