Abstract
The continuous discovery of new entomopathogenic bacteria belonging to the genus Bacillus thuringiensis caused several confusion about the real taxonomic identity of the supspecies, the same degree of uncertainties dose exist for the well established subspecies too. Several criteria for resolving the present dilemma about the differentiation of the B.thuringiensis were proposed depending on serological, phenotypical, biochemical, DNA relatedness and 16S rRNA sequencing. However, all the previously mentioned methods failed to give an answer towards the resolution of the present taxonomic situation of the B.thuringiensis subspecies.
