Abstract

The present work was carried out to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activity of florfenicol, ciprofloxacin and oxyteteracycline against Aeromonas hyDROPhila pathogen in Clarias lazera fish with especial references to their effect on some hematological and biochemical parameters , and lastly to determine the concentration of these tested drugs at different time intervals using microbiological assay .This work was carried out on 445 Clarias lazera . Firstly 5 group each of 10 fish were designed to determine the in vivo and in vitro efficacy ,then secondary 8 groups each of 10 were done to determine the effect of these drugs on some hematological and biochemical parameters, and lastly 7 groups were designed to determine the concentrations of these drugs at different time intervals .The in vitro activity indicated that ciprofloxacin was the more powerfull tested drug follwed by florfenicol and oxytetracycline .Also the in vivo antibacterial activity of these tested drugs by their therapeutic doses showed a decline in mortality rates and pathogenic clinical signs compared to that infected non medicated group. Also it was found that both ciprofloxacin and oxytetracycline cause significant decrease in all hematological parameters while florfenicol cause slight decrease in hematological picture , and all these changes were reversible and retuned to the normal within 7 days of treatment .The biochemical analysis of serum was carried out to estimate the liver function test( AST&ALT) , kidney function tests(Urea& Creatinine) and the protein fractions ( total protein & albumin and globulin) , the results showed that florfenicol cause non significant changes in all biochemical parameters compared to the control group . .The highest concentration of florfenicol , ciprofloxacin and oxytetracycline in serum was at (10, 4, 12 ) and ( 8, 2, 12 ) of clinically healthy and experimentally infected Claris lazera with A. hyDROPhila pathogen respectively then gradually declined by time .
