Abstract 1-Objective: The aim of this work to determine the effect of different surface treatments of root canal on tensile bond strength of two esthetic posts using two cements. Materials and Methods: A total number of eighty four samples were divided into two main groups: for group (I) Cosmopost was used. For group (II) Parapost was used. Each group was divided into three subgroups according to root canal dentin surface treatment. In subgroup (1) acid etch was used as chemical treatment, in subgroup (2) CoJet air abrasion sand was used as mechanical treatment and for subgroup (3) mechanical-chemical treatment was used. Each subgroup was divided into two divisions (A&B) according to cement used. In division (A) zinc phosphate cement was used and Panavia F2.0 was used for division (B). The samples were cycled 3,000 times between water baths at 5 ºC and 55 ºC, with a dwell time of 30 seconds in each. Then it is evaluated through the tensile bond strength assessment using universal testing machine. Results: The Parapost had higher tensile bond strength than Cosmopost but with no significant difference. The surface treatment had effect on tensile bond strength but with no significant difference. The adhesive resin cement had an effect on tensile bond strength greater than zinc phosphate cement with significant difference. Conclusion: Dentin surface treatments (chemical, mechanical and mechanical-chemical) have no significant effects on tensile bond strength of both Cosmopost and Parapost |
