Abstract

This work was conducted to evaluate the level of vitamin A and B- carotene in the blood serum of healthy camels at different ages and sexes in addition to the camels in pregnant and non pregnant condition. 107 camels (c.dromedarius) constituted the material of this study. Camels belonged to both Assiut and New Valley governorates. Animals have been subjected to careful clinical and laboratory methods of examination to ensure their healthy status and have been classified into the following groups according to their age and sex: Group I:3 males camels of one year. Group II:17 camels their age ranged between 3-4 years old. They subdivided into 4 are females and 13 are males. Group III:19 adult male camels their age ranged between 5-6 years old. Group IV:31 male camels their age ranged between 7-8 years old. Group V:29 camels their age over 8 years old. Group VI:8 female camels their age over 8 years and devided into 4 pregnant and 4 non-pregnant they belonged to New Valley governorate.
