Abstract In this study, 50 patients were included, (35) with peri menopausal and (15) with postmenopausal bleeding and another 20 control women (10) in the peri menopausal age group and (10) in the postmenopausal age group. All cases were screened using double layer endometrial thick.ness measurement and Doppler waveform analysis of signals obtained from the uterine arteries with measuring of the main Doppler indices, the SID ratio, the Rl and the PI .The results were compared to the histopathological examination of endometrial biopsy obtained by D & C. This study showed that patients with abnormal uterine bleeding, whether peri menopausal or postmenopausal had a mean endometrial thickness that was significantly higher than other women of the same age group but not suffering from bleeding. It also showed that the measured Doppler indices (SID ratio, RI and PI) all showed values that were significantly lower in patients with bleeding. |
