Abstract

The experiments was carried out in Mansoura University. This investigation was mainly carried out to develop a power unit using the human power prone cart suitable for small farms. The function designs the power unit is using the human power to provide job opportunities for youth that it made with young men in three systems. Evaluation of the human power unit at paved and unpaved roads: a) Forward speed at paved and unpaved roads: • The maximum Forward speed reached at a reduction ratio, 1:4.5 were (1.39, 1.41 and 1.47 kni/hr) and (0.99, 1.01 and 1.14 km!hr). • The maximum Forward speed reached at a reduction ratio, 1:3.5 were (1.43, 2.34 and 2.57 km/hr) and (1.97, 2.107 and 2.43 km/hr). • The maximum Forward speed reached at a reduction ratio, 1:2.5 were (1.44, 3.30 and 3.70 km/hr) and (2.93, 3.20 and 3.76 km!hr). b) Slippage at paved and unpaved roads: • The minimum value of slippage reached at a reduction ratio, 1:4.5 were (0.33, 0.60247 ando.96%)and(1.12, 1.98 and2.11 %). • The minimum value of slippage reached at a reduction ratio, 1:3.5 were (1.14, 1.29 and 1.62 %) and (2.44, 2.67 and 3.57 %) • The minimum value of slippage reached at a reduction ratio, 1:2.5 were (1.98, 2.296 and 2.46 %) and (3.76, 3.35 and 5.03 %) c) Drawbar pull at paved and unpaved roads: • The maximum value of drawbar pull reached at a reduction ratio, 1:4.5 were (80, 70 and 65 kg) and (60, 55 and 50 kg) • The maximum value of drawbar pull reached at a reduction ratio, 1:3.5 were (75, 65.5 and 62.5 kg) and (55, 52.5 and 50 kg). • The maximum value of drawbar pull reached at a reduction ratio, 1:2.5 were (70, 62.5 and 60 kg) and (52.5, 50 and 45 kg)
