المستخلص The International Criminal Tribunal has been established by the Security Council’s Resolution No 827 (1993). The aim of the establishment of this tribunal by the Security Council is to bring to justice the persons responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and the crimes against humanity and genocide and laws or customs war would not go unpunished. Thus the establishment of the tribunal should undoubtedly be regarded as a measure designed to promote peace by metting out justice in a manner conductive to the full establishment of healthy and cooperative relations among the various national and ethnic groups in the Former Yugoslavia. The tribunal rendered several judgments concerning to development certain rules of the international humanitarian law and furthermore the tribunal has laid down a number of recent legal principles. |
