Abstract

This study was conducted in order to determine the effect of fluoride released from different restorative systems on enamel surfaces that surround restoration by using laser fluorescence spectroscopy. A total of ninety one human lower first molars was used in this study. Seven of them were considered as a control group. The remaining were equally divided into two main groups relative to bonding agents . Each group was further subdivided into three subgroups relative to restorative materials used. Each subgroup was further subdivided into two divisions relative to period of storage in artificial saliva Auto fluorescence spectra of sound enamel were taken prior to storage in artificial saliva. After on month storage in artificial saliva. Specimen will then be returned to demineralizing solution for a further 48 hours and then a second assessment will be taken. Two days later ,the third assessment will be taken. Highly significant difference in demineralization between control group and that of the composite either fluoride release or non fluoride release. There was no significant difference in demineralization between control group and that of polyacid modified resin composite. There was no significant difference in demineralization between the two bonding systems.
