المستخلص
This research aims at studying the character in the realistic novel through two famous Egyptian novelists, (ALsharkawy) and (Idrees). The research has depended on the structural system whether formal or generative.
To achieve the aims of this study it came in an introduction , preface and two chapters and conclusion .

( The elements of building a character )
It’s divided into three parts .
Part One : The outer features of a character.
The two writers are interested in creating life characters through naming , aging and describing body features .
Part Two: The inner features of the character
The research revealed that the two writers are interested in penetrating the inner of the characters to image their feelings .
(Part Three) : (The narrator and the character).
The research revealed that the two writers are interested in the narrator
The two writers have used different kinds of narrators , The absent narrator , the Writness narrator and the participant narrator.
