Abstract
This work is aiming for studying the pulmonary hilum in both norma 1 and pa thol ogi ca 1 conditions and di scussi ng how to different¬iate between the different pathological states affecting the hilar region. The material of this work consisted of 32 patients referred from different departments of the university hospital. These patients were. complaining from various chest troubles and their clinical examination were suggesting possible hilar lesions. These cases were subjected to the following radiological examin¬a ti ons :- _ Plain X-ray chest :- P.A and Lat. projections were done for all cases. _ Penetrated grid film of the chest ( for 30 cases). - Linear hilar tomography :- - A.P. projection ( for 25 cases) . - 55° posterior oblique ( for 10 patients). The final diagnosis of these cases were reached after tharough clinical examination, radiological examination, operative findings and histopathological study, and the Results were as following: _ Bronchogenic carcinoma 11 cases. - Generalized lymphadenopathy 14”. subdivided into :- - Hodj ken IS 1 ymphoma 9”.
