Abstract Urea formaldehyde (UF) resins suffers from significant drawbacks; So it was concentrated in the current work to insert some dendritic modifiers to UF resins as reactive coreactants during the synthesis which may help to increase the system flexibility. Three types of dendritic structures based on poly(amidoamine) were employed in the current work, namely ester-terminated, amine-terminated, and hydroxyl-terminated forms up to the third generation. Some other dendritic hardeners were prepared by neutralization of the amine-terminated precursors, using hydrochloric acid solution, and tested for their performance as curing agents in comparison with the traditionally used system (NH4Cl). |
