Abstract Large amounts of grain are produced throughout the world, including developing countries. All of this grain is subject, to a greater or lesser degree, to insect information and consequently loss. The storage of grain in many countries, makes it imperative that all of this grain be protected from insect infestation in as cheap and effective a way as possible. To prevent insect infestation and to control insects which have infested the produce, it is essential to use an insecticide. Such an insecticide must process several attributes, these are safety, intrinsic effectiveness as protection high efficacy, international acceptance and high cost / benefit. The present study reports laboratory experiments to determine protect ant treatments effective against stored product insects. 1.Insects sensitivity to insecticides : Among the organ phosphorus compounds tested against R. Dominica, the order of potency ( judged ) by Lc50 values were chlorpyrifos-methyl > pirimiphos-methyl fenitrethion > malathion > , while among pyrethroid tested against R. dominica , the order of potency were cypermethrin > Es-fenaterate > fenvalerate. |
